The Ty Cobb Museum - The museum fosters education and understanding of baseball and Ty Cobb by providing art and memorabilia, film, video, books and historical archives. The museum also houses the Franklin County Sports Hall of Fame. Blue Ridge Scenic Railway - Blue Ridge Scenic Railway passengers arriving in McCaysville, Georgia, and Copperhill, Tennessee, can look forward to visiting two states during their one hour layover. Shopping and dining opportunities await them. The McCaysville City Park at the edge of the Toccoa River is a great place for the kids to play and feed the ducks. Rose Lawn Museum - This beautifully restored Victorian mansion was once the home of nationally renowned evangelist Samuel Porter Jones. The home was developed into a museum to house the writings and memorabilia of Sam Jones and Rebecca Latimer Felton, another Bartow Countian distinguished for her role in history as the first woman to serve in the U.S. Senate. BabyLand General Hospital - Birthplace of the original Cabbage Patch Kids, Housed in the former Neal Clinic (circa 1900 )BabyLand General Hospital welcomes over a quarter of a million visitors each year. Some babies born in the late 70’s and early 80’s are on display in the father’s waiting room. Lunch in the cafeteria is always a treat for the kids. Gold'n Gem Grubbin - Come pan your own gold and gemstones, right where the old timers fought off the Cherokee Indians in the early 1800's. Come and enjoy the fascinating history of our country's first major GOLD RUSH. Funky Chicken Art Project - The Funky Chicken Art Project started off being a dilapidated chicken house out in the middle of nowhere. In January, 1995, transformation began to turn it into an art gallery and an outdoor sculpture garden for whimsical, contemporary, and quality works of art. Weinman Mineral Museum - The mission of the museum is to educate and inspire a diverse audience of students, enthusiasts and visitors about geology with an emphasis on Georgia, by providing unique experiences through exhibits, programs, special events, and outreach in an engaging and fun environment. |
