September 18 - October 12 - La edad de la ciruela/The Aging of the Plum, - Acclaimed for its universality and magic realism style, the play has been staged throughout Latin American and Europe. The Aging of the Plum finds two sisters who recall their childhood and recount stories of their mother, aunts and grandmother shadowed by the ever present plum tree that saw them grow. With poetic lyricism and humor, the play journeys through three generations of women who struggle to liberate themselves from a world bound by traditions, rigid social rules, hidden grudges and forgotten loves. The Aging of the Plum will be performed in Spanish with English surtitles to be accessible to all.
